The Old Boat House

The Old Boat House is a listed stone cottage with detached annexe set in a stunning position by Seagrove Bay.

Originally, The Old Boat House was likely to have been used for picnics and bathing, after which it took on a role as a coastguard lookout. It now provides comfortable holiday accommodation for between 4 and 10 people.

Possibly the best tale it has to tell, is that rock legend Jimi Hendrix is reputed to have stayed at The Old Boat House while performing at the iconic 1970 Isle of Wight Festival – unfortunately the last performance he gave before his death just three months later.

The cottage offers two ground floor bedrooms, one with king bed and the second with twin beds, together with a family bathroom.  There is an attic room which offers three single beds under the eaves (NB this is accessed by steep paddle stairs with a stair gate at the top).

The kitchen/dining area and living room are open plan and have lovely views across the Solent; this a great spot for ship watching.

There is indoor dining space for 6 people alongside a comfortable sitting room with log burner for the cooler months.

The annexe offers a bedroom with bunk beds on the ground floor, together with a family bathroom. On the first floor there is a large bedroom with a superking bed and an additional single bed.

Between the buildings is a newly decked area with seating and dining space for eight to ten people.

The private enclosed garden wraps around with steps down to the seafront and parking for two cars.

A well behaved dog is welcome. If the annexe is rented together with the house, we allow a second dog.
